Inner Mongolia to limit rare earth development

The State Land and Resources Office of the Inner Mongolia autonomous region recently set limits of total development volume of rare earth for 2009, Xinhuanet reported.

The rare earth oxide and light rare earth to be developed by Baogang Group, the largest rare earth industrial base in China, will be controlled to be no more than 46,000 tons in 2009, according to Xinhuanet.

Contracts have been signed to ensure the implementation of the development control plans.
