Updated: 2009-09-21 20:09 BEIJING: Chinese police have seized 2,830 suspects and confiscated more than 47 million fake invoices in a three-month national campaign against invoice fraud.
Fake invoice vendors are common in Chinese cities, where they offer receipts used for tax purposes. Vice Minister Liu Jinguo told local bureaux in a teleconference to "give a destructive blow" to gangs creating and trading fake invoices when the campaign started in June. According to a statement, public security departments across the country strengthened cooperation in investigation, network monitoring and security ensurance, uncovering many major cases and putting the situation under control. |
