According to the workers, they spotted the panda, a rare and endangered species found only in China, struggling to find a way down from the top of a hill.

The panda attacked and injured one of the workers , who was involved in the rescue.

"I don't care much for the injury. It's worth saving a panda," the injured worker said.

Experts at the local wild animal protection center said the panda was about 3 years old and weighed a healthy 35 kg.
