New Energy Int'l Forum & Solar Energy Fair held in Chengdu

2009 New Energy Int'l Forum & Solar Energy Fair kicked off in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, on Monday.

Sponsored by the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), Chinese Renewable Energy Society and Chengdu Municipal People’s Government, the two-day event drew experts and famous entrepreneurs from home and abroad.

Li Chuncheng, secretary of Chengdu Municipal Party Committee, said at the meeting that the city had given great support to the development of the industry in the aspects of supporting industries and policy support.

There were over 100 new energy enterprises in the city and some major industrialized projects were being promoted, he said.

The city shall take the industries of solar energy, nuclear energy, wind energy, new energy vehicles and semiconductor lighting as priorities to develop equipment complex and the chain of supporting products so as to build Chengdu as an industrial base of new energy.

Taking “opportunities and challenges of the solar energy industry” as its theme, the event fell into the new energy, photovoltaic technology and industry, solar technology and industry forums

A series of exhibitions of solar products, equipments and technologies were also held.
