NDRC approves Chongqing's 10b-yuan logistic investment plan

The National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), the country's top economic planner, recently gave the green light to Chongqing's "Three Bases and Four Ports" logistic investment plan, said Wang Ping, vice director of the Chongqing Reform and Development Commission, the Shanghai Securities News reported.

According to Wang, the "three bases" include a railway container terminal at Tuanjiecun, an airport logistic center based at Jiangbei International Airport and a highway logistic base in Banan District. The "Four ports" include four waterway terminals based at Cuntan, Guoyuan, Huangqian and East ports.

The total investment of the "Three Bases and Four Ports" project will reach 10 billion yuan ($1.46 billion) and the projects "will be put into use by 2020", Wang said.

Chongqing, one of the nine logistic center cities in China, will set up a comprehensive logistic network for distribution through railways, waterways, highways and aviation in the upstream area of the Yangtze River, according to national plans.
