A swarm of bees attacked passengers waiting to board coaches from a bus station in Beijing, causing significant panic and chaos, at noon on Monday.

Several commuters ran helter-skelter as others lay flat on the ground to avoid getting stung. However, many of them were stung, but no major casualties were reported.

A beekeeper who was called on the scene failed to drive the bees away, following which police officers were forced to spray pesticides to kill them.
