Strange gamers donate money to one of their own

A group of online games fanatics in Zigong, Sichuan province, donated money to another gamer they had never met face to face for his sick fianc's medical treatment.

Zhang Yu often played an online multiplayer game called "World of Warcraft" with gamers from around the city. In April, he wrote to his gaming friends he would not be able to play the game anymore as he had to save money to treat his fianc, who suffered from lupus.

Some 127 gamers from around the city sent Zhang 8,107 yuan ($1,187) for his fianc's treatment.
