Hand stuck in toilet pot - odd job for firefighters

Firefighters in Xi'an, capital of Shaanxi province, were a little amused when they rushed in to rescue their latest casualty last Thursday.

They found a woman's hand was jammed in the sewer of a toilet in a hospital.

The woman, surnamed Zhang, who was in the hospital visiting her sick husband, dropped 800 yuan ($117) in the pot after using the facility, which is why she put her hand in.

It took firefighters an hour to free Zhang's hand from the mess without causing any injury.
