Thief strung up to a tree after guards nab him in act

A thief called police himself after security guards caught him in the act of stealing wires from a construction site and tied him to a tree in Shenzhen, Guangdong province, last Tuesday.

The guards caught the thief in the city's Hongfu road at about 9:30 am and tied his body for all of the public to see with more than 20 kg of electric wires. The thief, who is in his 50s, said he was worried about being beaten by passers-by.
