Fed-up woman strangles husband over his infidelity

A retired teacher claimed in her murder trial that she strangled her husband to death over his blatant promiscuity that spanned several decades.

Citing an example of his alleged affairs, the teacher said the husband once brought a lover to their home and kissed the lover in front of her. The teacher said the husband refused to grant a divorce.

The teacher, who said she would often quarrel with the now-deceased husband over his affairs, said she decided one day to put sleeping pills into his lunch at their home in Beijing. She then strangled him to death with a rope when he was asleep.

Judges have yet to render judgment on the case.
