Mainland A(H1N1) cases reach 2,200

BEIJING: The Chinese mainland confirmed 58 new cases of A(H1N1) influenza from Monday to Wednesday, bringing the total number to 2,210, the Ministry of Health said Wednesday.

Among the newly confirmed cases, 19 were imported. The remainder were infected in the Chinese mainland, the ministry said.

The Chinese mainland reported its 1,000th confirmed A(H1N1) case in early July. Since then, the number of confirmed cases has been growing at an average of 40 a day.

Of the confirmed A(H1N1) cases, 2,074 have recovered and been discharged.
