The north park of the Beijing Olympic Forest Park will finally open to visitors on October 1 to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China, the Beijing News reported Wednesday.

The whole Park, including the north and south parts, will be open to visitors free of charge for the national holiday week that begins on October 1. After October 8, visitors will then have to pay a small fee to get in.

The north park, which comprises 300 hectares of the 680-hectare Forest Park, will be open from 6am to 8pm. It has three parking lots that can hold over 600 vehicles.
