15 injured in N. China building collapse

At least 15 people were injured when a two storey residential building collapsed on Tuesday in the capital of Hebei province, Shijiazhuang, according to China News Service.

The building, constructed in the late eighties, collapsed suddenly at around 10am today.

Investigators believe the accident was due to heavy rains. The rain on the day of the collapse was Shijiazhuang’s heaviest this year.

Floods blocked roads around the collapsed building, making it hard for rescue vehicles to reach the area.

No casualties have been reported.
