A nine-member team including representatives from Chinese tire industrial associations and companies has headed to the United States for a week-long lobby against punitive measures on tire exports.

American authorities are persuading President Barack Obama to slap measures on companies including the China Rubber Industry Association, China Chamber of Commerce of Metals, Minerals & Chemicals Importers & Exporters, and Zhongce Rubber and Giti Tire China, both of which are leading tire exporters and makers.

They will visit high-level officials from the US Trade Representative, US Department of Commerce and the US Treasury, persuading them to realize Chinese tire exports have not hurt the American business, and it will be unfair for the US to conduct any high-level duty measures on imports from China.
