Workers can't use toilet without permission

Workers of a factory in Dongguan, Guangdong province, were outraged as their management decided to lock all toilets on the premises last week.

The management of the Taiwan-funded mould factory made a new rule that requires workers to seek permission before paying the restroom a visit.

Managers said the move is aimed at preventing employees from loafing about and smoking in the toilets during work hours.

The labor department has launched an investigation.
