Schizophrenic, 17, who tried killing father cured

A 17-year-old schizophrenic boy who tried killing his father in May last year was cured and released from the hospital in Chengdu, Sichuan province, on Tuesday.

The boy was addicted to computer games. Last May, when his father asked him to stop playing games and hit the books, the boy attacked his father with a knife.

His parents phoned the cops who sent the boy to a local mental health center for treatment.

Doctors found that the boy suffered from schizophrenia "caused by Internet addiction".
