Pet anchovy delivers rare Siamese twins in tank

A family's pet anchovy gave birth to Siamese twins in Lanzhou, capital of Gansu province, last Wednesday.

Guo, who bought the fish a month ago from a local pet shop, said she and her daughter spotted the twins, conjoined by a vascular on the bellies, when they were changing the water in the tank.

Animal experts said it was rare for such species of fish to deliver Siamese twins. "It might have been due to gene mutation," one said.
