Man, 67, duped by 'cops' after hooker visit

Two men claiming to be cops duped a 67-year-old man as soon as he stepped out of a massage center, where he was visiting a prostitute, in Haikou, capital of Hainan province, last Wednesday.

The man was forced to get inside a van in the city's Fuchen road in the dead of the night and pay a "fine and AIDS examination fee" - 4,300 yuan - in exchange for his freedom.

When it struck he might have been conned, the old man went to the police station, where officers confirmed his fear.
