Woman falls off cliff and lands on tree, rescued

Forest officials rescued a tourist who clung to a tree after slipping off a cliff in Lanzhou, capital of Gansu province, last Sunday.

The woman went up the mountains in the city's suburbs to enjoy a good view, but lost her way back. She stepped on the edge of a cliff to see if there was a track down the mountain and slipped.

"I tried to grasp something to stop myself from falling and finally managed to hang on to a tree with my arms around a branch," the tourist said after she was pulled back to safety.

It took forest officials three hours to rescue the woman.
