Puppy trapped one week inside chimney rescued

A 40-day-old puppy is now known as Gou Jianqiang or "Strong Dog" after it survived a week inside a chimney without food or water.

The collie puppy entered the chimney in a six-story residential building in Beijing to find food. A woman heard barks coming from behind a wall in her kitchen one night but didn't want to let the owner break her wall.

Days later, people forgot about the dog but decided to call firefighters when it barked again.

The firefighters cut a hole in the wall to find the dog.
