Woman gets 120,000 yuan over hot soup bath

A 70-year-old woman who was knocked into a huge pot of boiling soup which she was preparing for a wedding, received 120,000 yuan ($17,567) in compensation from the driver who hit her.

The woman suffered burns on 40 percent of her body.

She was cooking for wedding guests when the driver backed into her in a rural courtyard in Mentougou, Beijing, and knocked her into the pot. She filed a lawsuit against him and received the judgment on Monday.
