Cancer diagnosis proven a mistake 8 years later

A woman in Kunming, capital of Yunnan province, sued the hospital that gave her the wrong diagnosis 13 years ago.

Li Qiongying was diagnosed with cancer in May, 1996 and got an operation to remove the cancer. In 2004, doctors told her that she did not suffer from cancer after when she went to another hospital for a medical check up.

Li felt angry and went to the hospital, which made the wrong diagnosis, for compensation, but was refused. In 2005, Li went to court for help and requested 200,000 yuan in compensation ($29,283) and is awaiting the judgment.
