Hu arrived here Friday for a state visit, during which the two sides are expected to sign a host of cooperation documents.

The China-Croatia ties have developed steadily since the two countries established diplomatic relations 17 years ago. The bilateral relations have entered a new era since the two countries forged an all-round cooperative partnership in 2005.

Croatia is the last leg of President Hu's three-nation tour. Earlier, Hu attended a summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and a summit of BRIC countries -- Brazil, Russia, India and China, in Russia's Yekaterinburg, and paid state visits to Russia and Slovakia.
