Woman disappears after she agrees to marry farmer

A lonely farmer is now heartbroken and 20,000 yuan ($2,926) poorer after he fell for a woman he met through a personal ad in Wuchang, Hubei province.

The farmer, 40, started to see the woman, 37, two months ago and she promised to marry him if he paid her mother the bride-price of 10,000 yuan.

After he paid, she asked him for another 10,000 to prepare for their wedding ceremony.

But the farmer became heartbroken after the woman got the money and disappeared.
