YEKATERINBURG -- Chinese President Hu Jintao met Kyrgyz President Kurmanbek Bakiyev on Monday in the Russian city of Yekaterinburg to discuss ways to expand bilateral cooperation in various areas.

President Hu meets president of Kyrgyzstan Hu to attend SCO, BRIC summits in Russia in mid-June

The two leaders are meeting on the sidelines of the annual summit of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, which will discuss how to tackle the international financial crisis and expand cooperation in political, economic, security and other areas among member states.

China and Kyrgyzstan have seen their political mutual trust deepened and practical cooperation carried out in a comprehensive manner since the establishment of diplomatic ties 17 years ago.
