Ancestral hall's latest hanger-on
(CFP)
Updated: 2009-06-15 11:35 A swarm of bats hang overhead at the ancestral hall of Gens Yu, which was built in the Ming Dynasty (1368-1644 AD), in Sikou town of Wuyuan county, east China's Jiangxi province Saturday, June 13, 2009. The uninvited worm-eating residents may have unintentionally helped preserve the wooden structure of the ancestral hall from woodworm infestation. An Ancestral hall is a divine temple in China for clan ceremony and ancestor worship activities. [CFP] |
