Suzhou Party chief nominated Shenzhen mayor

SHENZHEN -- The Party chief of east China's Suzhou City Wang Rong was nominated Friday to succeed Xu Zongheng to become mayor of the boomtown Shenzhen.

The nomination was announced by Hu Zejun, head of the Organization Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Guangdong Provincial Committee, here Friday.

Xu has been removed from his post for "serious disciplinary violations,"  according to the Organization Department of the CPC Central Committee told Xinhua.
