Woman delivers baby under sea of umbrellas

A woman delivered a baby outdoors as her neighbors used umbrellas to shield her from the rain while her husband acted as the midwife in Guangzhou, capital of Guangdong province, on Monday.

The pregnant woman surnamed Yang was accompanied by her husband to a hospital when guards stopped her and told her the facility had no maternity ward.

Yang, 39, who comes from Guizhou in southwest China, was later transported to another hospital after a kind-hearted pedestrian helped them dial the emergency hotline.

Both Yang and her newborn daughter are in good condition.
