A woman in Chongqing municipality woke up to find a clumsy burglar trying to steal her purse and she held on to him until police came.

Surnamed Qu, the woman was still in bed when her husband went out to buy cigarettes and failed to lock the door. Qu was awakened after her quilt moved and she saw the man removing her bag.

The bag's belt was caught in her quilt and she screamed and grasped the man. The thief could not get away from her, and her husband returned in time to help her.

Later, police caught the burglar's partner who escaped when the woman screamed.
