Escaped monkeys running wild in village

Monkeys that escaped from a breeding farm are wreacking havoc in a village by stealing eggs, grabbing bananas and destroying peanuts in Nanning, the Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region.

Some villagers suspected their ducks were producing fewer eggs but later realized the monkeys were the culprits.

In an effort to keep the monkeys away, villagers have installed scarecrows in their fields, but that tactic has not been working.

Their biggest worry is that the monkeys may hurt young children.
