Taxi driver learns 1,000 won is nearly worthless

A Shanghai passenger paid his 305-yuan taxi fare with a 1,000 South Korean won that turned to have a face value of just 5.3 yuan.

The passenger took the taxi from the suburbs to Pudong Airport and said he didn't have Chinese currency. He also told the driver it was worth the same as the fare.

Li did not know the exchange rate and didn't want to wait at the busy airport.

After leaving the airport, Li contacted his company and learned the bad news.
