Man ignites himself and former girlfriend

A middle-aged man killed himself and his former girlfriend by igniting himself with gasoline and then hugged her.

The man surnamed Song went to Liu's home in Shulan, Jilin province, on Monday with a bucket of gasoline. Before she became aware of his intentions, he poured the fuel over himself and ignited himself and her body.

She ran out of her house but both died at the hospital.

The two were in love but split up several days earlier for an unknown reason, neighbors said.
