Jobless man unable to prove he's a killer

A man claimed he committed murder in order to get help from police but he only got some free advice.

The jobless man, from Hubei province, phoned the police in Beijing on Monday night and said he had robbed and then stabbed someone to death.

After police went to the spot in Xuanwu district they found no signs of a crime.

Questioned by cops, Liang confessed that since his money ran out, he couldn't think of any other way to get help or money.

Police escorted him to a local relief station to spend the night and advised him to call his family.
