NANNING -- Ten people were injured, one of them seriously, when a drunk driver plowed his way through bicycles and motorcycles in south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, local police said Saturday.

The accident occurred at about 7:45 p.m. Friday in Hepu County when the driver surnamed Luo hit 10 with his Mercedes Benz. The victims were riding bikes, motorcycles and electric-powered bicycles, police said.

A boy was injured while his father suffered heavy injuries in the head, doctors in Hepu People's Hospital said.

The father is still in critical condition. The other victims are in stable condition, doctors said.

Police apprehended Luo at his home early Saturday as he went to sleep after the accidents. Luo will be charged for threatening public security, police said.
