Two elderly women in Shandong province are still perplexed as to why a middle-aged man handed them 800 yuan and walked away.

One evening late last month, Yang and Tian were exercising at a plaza in Qingdao when the man approached, and handed them two 100-yuan bills.

Perplexed, they asked why and the man said: "One railway ticket for Zhengzhou (Henan province)." Soon afterwards, he returned and handed them more bills and left.

Yang and Tian realized the notes were real and tried to return them to the stranger but he was long gone.

They suspected the man was drunk or was a mental patient. They returned to the plaza every night in an attempt to return his money. But he never returned.
