Woman, 39, and son, 10, are primary school mates

A 39-year-old migrant worker in the Xinjiang Uygur autonomous region is attending primary school with her young son.

The woman, who never learned to read and write, shows up at the primary school with her 10-year-old son every day.

Dong Xiaoju of Sichuan province said that she was born into a poor farmer's family and couldn't attend school when she was young. Dong decided to go to school as a first-grade student after working for several years.

"I even could not write my name and I hope I can complete my primary school education," Dong said.
