Two beggars who were accompanied by their camels were apparently quite successful in Jiaonan, Shandong province.

Whenever they approached a shop, they would kneel down, and then the owner would come out and give them money to leave.

Dong, a local resident, admired the beggars' ingenuity. He had seen different beggars but it was the first time he had met beggars leading camels, he said.

Ding, a city resident, followed the two beggars throughout the day and estimated they had visited nearly 1,000 shops and had earned at least 1,000 yuan, even if each gave them one yuan, he said.
