A middle school student who tried to kill himself by jumping out of a ninth-floor window was saved because a tree was in his way.

The boy, 14, got upset after an argument with his parents on Saturday in Chongqing municipality and tried to kill himself.

According to his aunt, he lived with his aunt because his parents work in another city. They argued about his studies over the telephone.

After the tree broke his fall, he fell to the grassy ground. He was seriously injured but was in stable condition.
