Bank vehicle attacked in S China county

NANNING -- An armored bank vehicle was attacked at 9:30 Monday morning in Lipu County of Guilin City, southern China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, according to local government officials.

A man driving a motorcycle sprayed an unknown substance with a water gun at two security guards standing outside the vehicle. One was taken to the hospital to have his eyes flushed after being hit by the substance. He is now fine, local police told Xinhua. The guard was unharmed.

The man fled after the attack, leaving the motorcycle behind. Authorities are still searching for him.

Nothing was taken from the armored vehicle which is now parked in front of the local branch of the China Post and Savings Bank, which owns the vehicle.

A meeting is now underway at the bank. No other details were immediately available.
