Consulate: Chinese student injured in Binghamton shooting

NEW YORK -- A Chinese student was among those injured in Friday's shooting in Binghamton, the US state of New York, sources with the Chinese Consulate-general in New York said.

The male student, who was taking a language course in the American Civic Association building on Friday morning, suffered two gunshot wounds but is now in stable condition with no danger of life, the sources said, declining to give any further details.

An unidentified gunman entered the building of the American Civic Association, which provides services for immigrants and refugees, and started shooting at people inside. Latest official statement said that 13 people, including the gunman who seemed to have killed himself after the shooting, were confirmed dead in the attack, while five others were in local hospitals with gunshot wounds.
