Controversy erupted when a local hospital in Guangzhou, capital of Guangdong province, unveiled a presidential suite for sick, rich patients.

The presidential suite contains a kitchen, a study, a meeting room and a washroom. It goes for more than 3,000 yuan ($440) a night, nearly the cost of a suite in a fancy hotel.

The suite is equipped with luxury furniture, household appliances and other expensive decorations.

Some feel the suites would take up too much space that ordinary patients could use. Some politicians say the suite should be torn down.
