The pigeons at Shanghai's People's Square are becoming fatter and fatter, and some residents have complained that they are looking more like geese.

Shaking their head and waggling their tail while walking, pigeons are less active than before. Some pigeons don't move when people try to drive them away.

The square's management office said the pigeons are becoming fatter because people offer them rice, bread, and even popcorn.

The pigeons are said to be at risk of developing high blood pressure and may not be able to lay eggs.
