120 kg woman is 35 kg lighter after surgery

A woman who once weighed more than 155 kg is now 35 kg lighter after medical surgery in Wuhan, Hubei province.

But doctors said Liu Hongxia, now 120 kg, needs to maintain her treatment in order to keep off the weight and remain healthy.

Liu, 31, was rushed to the hospital after she struggled to breathe and was unable to easily move around. Her waistline reached 143 cm, compared with about 85 cm for most women.

Liu's father who is a poor farmer said he had to sell his house to help raise 30,000 yuan ($4,390) to pay the medical fees.
