Man jumps through window to avoid dog

A court in Shenyang, Liaoning province, ordered a dog owner to pay 30,000 yuan ($4,385) in compensation to a neighbor who had to jump through a window to hide from a dog.

Li Hua was reinforcing his windows for the 2006 winter when Zhang's dog jumped on him. To avoid being bitten, he jumped through the window and suffered permanent injuries during the fall.

Li brought Zhang to court but the dog owner said there were no witnesses and he refused to pay.

The Shenyang court said the injuries and other evidence were enough to satisfy the court.
