Police break down door to rescue girl from father

A man was arrested after he locked himself inside his home with his daughter, forcing police to break down the door to get in.

The man surnamed Ma often quarreled with his wife over household chores. Ma's wife left their village home in Shanxi province a month ago and didn't return.

Last week, he locked himself and their daughter inside the house and asked police to find the woman who is a migrant worker in Taiyuan.

When police showed up at his house, he refused to open the door, and even used some explosives to keep them out. The police eventually barged in and arrested him on Friday.
