She has stayed in hospital since she took down 200 sleeping pills on Jan 23 this year.

The electric blanket left on for some ten hours after she took the pills on the day has caused serious burns on Chen's back, bottom and leg.

According to Cui, Chen Jin is now in a bad mood and is easily irritated.

But Chen is still kept unaware of her father's death, which occurred at the beginning of this month, according to Chen's mother Cui Lan.

"We all think it is best not to let her know about her dad's death", Cui said.

"My daughter thinks her father is still alive. She usually communicates with 'her father' by SMS which are usually replied by me", Cui said.

Chen Jin normally send texts to "her father" to encourage him to combat cancer, typical of: "Dad, please be brave to fight cancer", according to Cui.

Chen is currently suffering from skin transplantation infection from the previous surgery and she will have a third surgery soon on her burns but the nerves in her right leg have confirmed to be damaged.
