Worker dies after falling into septic tank

A contractor jumped into a septic tank to save an employee on Sunday afternoon in Chongqing municipality but was too late.

One of three workers there, the 40-year-old man slipped into the tank, which was full at the time. The boss jumped after him but he was also submerged.

The others grabbed a long stick but they couldn't do anything so they called local emergency workers to help.

Police and firefighters came within 15 minutes and removed the two from the tank. Unfortunately, the worker died and the contractor was seriously injured but was expected to recover.
