Senior puts up reward for lover on the run

A 68-year-old man surnamed Wang is offering a 500 yuan ($73) reward for clues on his runaway girlfriend in Haikou, capital of Hainan province.

Wang, whose wife died a decade ago, met and fell in love with a local masseuse surnamed Xia when he visited her massage parlor in the city's Renmindadao Road last August.

But Xia, 43, disappeared after she took off with Wang's life savings, worth more than 70,000 yuan, in the past months.

Wang was fooled into helping Xia pay for her rent and repaying her debts, shortly after they started dating.

Apart from recovering his losses, Wang said he hoped to prevent others from being duped by Xia by offering the special reward for the swindler.
