Quake survivors to have brand new homes

Newly-built houses for those who lost their homes in the May 12 earthquake stand at the foot of a mountain in Xiang'e township of Dujiangyan City, Southwest China's Sichuan Province, January 9, 2009. A total of 831 families will receive keys to their new homes in Xiang'e township by January 15 before the Spring Festival, as construction on the first batch of permanent houses for quake survivors is finished. The new housing project is designed to withstand 8-magnitude earthquakes. [CFP] |
