China's parliament to hold closing meeting

BEIJING - The First Session of the 11th National People's Congress (NPC) is to hold its last meeting at 9:00 a.m. Tuesday.

President Hu Jintao and NPC Standing Committee Chairman Wu Bangguo are scheduled to address the closing meeting.

The meeting is expected to adopt resolutions endorsing the government work report, the report on the work of the 10th NPC Standing Committee, and the reports presented to the NPC by the Supreme People's Court and the Supreme People's Procuratorate.

The meeting will also adopt resolutions accepting the report on the implementation of the 2007 plan for national economic and social development and on the plan for 2008, as well as the report on the implementation of the central and local budgets for 2007 and the central and local budgets for 2008.
